Ballarat - Picture This!

Mining was not the only way to make a living on the goldfields.

This is the local paper. It would provide quite a few jobs, including the editor and journalists and would either pay a publisher of have their own on site.

The grocery shop, again, provides many job opportunities.

There were advertisements like this all over Sovereign Hill. There were clearly many more prospering businesses than we are shown.

Ah, photographic rooms! If people cared about family portraits, then why not anything else?

This is one of my favourite places in Sovereign Hill and for the people of the time, it was probably important.

This is just a taste of what's available in Sovereign Hill. I have 37 photos as proof that my contention is true.
